The Medically Complex Student’s School Bus Transportation Bill of Rights:

All medically complex students are entitled to life support systems and technology support offered by special needs transportation.

All Driver Teams are entitled to obtain current and accurate information on medically fragile or technology dependent students in order to better serve them.

All medically complex students are entitled to courteous, efficient, and timely transportation service.

All medically complex students are entitled to the right of confidentiality in all of their dealings with Driver Teams, special education, medical, and other personnel and their staffs..

All medically complex students are entitled to full access and service to public education services, programs, buildings, recreation service areas, extracurricular activities and field trips.

All medically complex students are entitled to the  use of special  needs buses  that are accessible, functional, and comfortable.

All medically complex students and their families  are entitled to be provided with a statement of the policies governing the use and services of the Driver Team and the special needs bus.

All medically complex students are entitled to school bus service that reflects the interest and needs of the community.

The guiding principles of these related service, school bus transportation and Driver Team service rights for medically complex students will be interpreted in the context of accommodation for students with disabilities as defined by the American with Disabilities Act.
